Building capacities

Developing the skills and capability of health workers in Tanzania is an intrinsic aspect of Baobab Maternity Hospital’s core activities. By providing high quality training, CCBRT aims to contribute to the strengthening of maternal and newborn health services in Tanzania over the long term. In collaboration with national and international training institutions, CCBRT will develop and conduct regular training sessions in 24-hour emergency obstetric care, essential newborn care and quality assurance. Focus on these three core areas is essential for the sustainable improvement of maternal and newborn care in the country. CCBRT, in partnership with other institutions, will develop training packages in key areas of hospital management and this training will be conducted on a regular basis. Following the model of CCBRT Disability Hospital, Baobab Maternity Hospital will offer regular Fellowships as well as short-term in-service training for other health service providers.
