Working principles

CCBRT adheres to the following working principles:

Working in partnership

CCBRT is dedicated to working in partnerships; building on each other’s strengths and comparative advantages. Complementing each other rather than duplicating work is key to CCBRT’s understanding of partnership. We link up with and collaborate closely with other NGOs, governmental bodies, research institutions as well as community groups.

Applying a comprehensive approach to achieve impact

CCBRT has a holistic approach to its work. This includes comprehensive service delivery combining specialist hospital care with community based initiatives which focus on individuals, families and communities.

Working in and with the community

CCBRT recognizes the importance of working with individuals, families and communities to ensure a continuum of care. CCBRT therefore puts extra effort into providing community based health and rehabilitation services and strengthening links between communities and relevant levels of the health system.

Making services accessible and affordable to poor and vulnerable groups

CCBRT is committed to providing equitable access to quality health services. CCBRT gives special attention to the poor, to adolescents and to the most vulnerable groups, i.e. people with disabilities, pregnant women with HIV/AIDS and newborns. CCBRT implements a pro-poor policy where funds from self funded patients are used to subsidise the cost of treatment for poorer patients.

Ensuring quality in all activities

Quality of service is one of CCBRT’s key principles. High service quality is ensured by adhering to internationally and nationally accepted standards. Quality assurance, regular audits and informed decisions are central to CCBRT’s quality improvement initiatives. CCBRT will work closely with national and international academic bodies to ensure that best practices and standards are integrated into its operations and programmes.

Valuing and respecting client’s rights

Our clients are at the centre of all our work. We are committed to upholding a patient friendly environment where individuals are treated with respect and their dignity and needs are recognized and catered for. CCBRT regularly reviews its services to ensure that high service standards and patient satisfaction are maintained.

Ensuring transparency and accountability at all times

We ensure accountability and transparency in all our activities. CCBRT operates transparent, professional, financial and administrative systems, and follows clearly outlined service protocols and professional standards. In all areas, CCBRT adheres to Tanzania’s laws, health and educational policies. CCBRT makes its strategic planning, narrative and financial reporting accessible to all its partners and other interested parties.
